Containers for Storage and Shipping
The Metapallet is a new approach to unitization and containerization, a breakthrough in logistics that can exploit other new technologies to create economies in every category of economic life. Economic opportunities for manufacturing, distribution, storage, agriculture, and real estate development are first. Still, social impacts are potentially greater as our society adopts new ways of life, changing our priorities to live longer as our networks of communities expand into orbital or deep space and subterranean tunnel and cavern systems.
They are only slightly smaller in width and height, just enough to slide easily into the ocean containers seen everywhere today. Similar in width to the tricon, they are built on standard-size Metapallets, six feet four inches by seven feet six inches At seven and a half feet tall, they can be moved within highway tractor-trailers, on urban delivery trucks, in buildings with standard height ceiling rooms, and use freight elevators in many large buildings.
Below are containers of the similar size used by a company in their moving and storage business. These are constructed similarly to small box trucks, but new production methods and scale will provide many options. The automated handling features are built into the Metapallet upon which the container is constructed.
